Exeter Acupuncture Project

About The Clinic

The Exeter Acupuncture Project is a low cost, community acupuncture clinic, sometimes known as group acupuncture or a multibed clinic.

The shortest, simplest explanation of multibed acupuncture is acupuncture in a group setting. The Clinic here was started in 2012 and we’ve had numerous acupuncturists work here over the years.

We are able to offer the pricing scale because we run as a community acupuncture clinic sometimes known as a Multibed.

There are loads of community acupuncture clinics in the UK and the clinic is part of The Association of Community and Multibed Acupuncture Clinics, or, ACMAC, which is how you know that despite the lower price, we are not offering lower quality treatment.

Our mission is to make acupuncture affordable and accessible for anybody who needs it, regardless of financial means or backgrounds.

Acupuncture is one of the oldest and safest forms of receiving healthcare in the world. Moreover acupuncture in a community setting is very common and is the norm in Asia.

You’ll find us in the Exeter Community Centre

Tips For Attending Clinic

Wear loose clothing so we can got access up to the your knees and elbows.

For women a vest top means we can easily get to painful and tight shoulders.

Need to Cancel?

The clinic runs on a very tight financial margin. The practitioners get paid for their work but we get no funding and have no large reserves of money.  For this reason it’s essential any cancellations made within 48 hours of the appointment are paid for. Any extra funds that come into the clinic go towards updating the clinics equipment and materials, which always need doing!

Our Practitioners

Sam Hargreaves & Kat Clark

I qualified in 2007 from the Northern College of Acupuncture and have over 13 years of clinical practice. I run a private clinic in Okehampton and Teignmouth and I co-founded The Acupuncture Works community multi-bed clinic in Manchester. I have extensive experience in running and treating clients in the multi-bed clinic setting.

I have undertaken post-graduate training with some of the world’s leading acupuncture practitioners and incorporate a number of acupuncture styles and techniques into sessions. My focus is on relieving symptoms quickly and looking at how stress, emotions and trauma impact on the body’s health.

I have undertaken training in somatic bodywork and breath work. I also work deeply with Polyvagal Theory and how our natural flight, flight and freeze body responses effects the nervous system and health.

I have practised Daoist Qi Gong, yoga and tantra practices for over 19 years. I live in Devon and am a semi-professional musician playing mandolin and percussion in various bands.

I’m Kat. I am a qualified Acupuncturist, having studied at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, where I trained in both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Elements Acupuncture. I have a long-standing connection with energy medicine, which has deeply influenced my approach to healing and life.

I spent a significant amount of time as an adult living in Australia, where I raised my children and completed an advanced diploma in Homeopathy. This training gave me a solid foundation in holistic health and wellness, instilling a deep understanding of the mind, body, spirit, and the interconnectedness of health. I have seen firsthand, how powerful Acupuncture can be as a healing tool, helping individuals with a wide variety of health challenges.

Today, I run a private Acupuncture practice in Buckfastleigh, Devon and also practice at Totnes Community Acupuncture clinic. In my spare time, I enjoy being with my two children (who aren’t so little anymore) and exploring the beauty of Dartmoor and the South Devon coast.

When not with patients you’ll find me spending time with my family, camping and enjoying the Devon coast and countryside.
